Observation plays a large role in what a cognition and perception professional does. Only by observing children, mental health patients, or average subjects in a certain environment and with certain tools, can they achieve understanding about how these concepts work within the subspecialty.

In addition to observation, a cognition and perception expert must be able to analyze data and draw conclusions from that data without bringing their own biases to the table.
